“I am home — so I stepped up to serve.”
Alexander Voss made Singapore his home, becoming a Permanent Resident in 2004 after arriving in 1998. He felt a strong desire to give back—so when the SAF Volunteer Corps (SAFVC) opened its doors in 2014, he enrolled. After rigorous training, he served as an Auxiliary Security Trooper during iconic national events like National Day 2015 and SAF Day 2016, working alongside servicemen to manage crowds and security. He reflects: “My wife and boss were fully supportive … The smiles on the faces of my relatives in Singapore made my decision … all the sweeter.”
